Your responsibilities will include teaching and facilitating IB MYP Mathematics courses within the Levels 1-5 range, following the IB MYP framework. You will be tasked with developing engaging and challenging lesson plans that promote inquiry, problem-solving, and the integration of mathematical concepts. Providing differentiated instruction to cater to the diverse learning needs of students will be a crucial aspect of your role. Regular assessment of student progress through formative and summative evaluations, along with timely and constructive feedback, will be essential in guiding students towards academic success. Key skills required for this position include a deep understanding of the IB MYP Mathematics curriculum and assessment criteria, strong teaching and classroom management abilities, expertise in differentiated instruction, and proficiency in educational technologies and digital teaching tools. Effective communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills are also essential, along with the ability to collaborate with a team of educators and inspire students to develop a passion for mathematics in real-life contexts. To qualify for this role, you should hold a Bachelors or Masters degree in Mathematics or a related field, be IB MYP certified or possess an equivalent teaching certification, and have 2-5 years of experience in teaching MYP Mathematics or in a similar middle school setting. Familiarity with inquiry-based learning, the IB approach to education, and formative and summative assessment methods in the IB context are also desired qualifications.
