IB DP Economics and Business Management Teacher

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching & Learning

• Deliver engaging, inquiry-based, concept-driven Economics and Business Management lessons aligned with the IB Diploma Programme (DP) framework.
• Design well-structured units of study using IB subject guides, integrating global contexts, key concepts, and real-world applications.
• Promote critical thinking, data analysis, and evaluative skills to support students in developing a deep understanding of economic and business theories in practice.
• Employ varied assessment strategiesformative and summative—ensuring authentic assessment of student learning outcomes in alignment with IB assessment criteria.

Curriculum Development

• Collaborate actively with interdisciplinary teams to integrate Economics and Business concepts into broader curricular frameworks.
• Contribute to curriculum mapping, vertical articulation, and internal standardization practices.
• Prepare for periodic IB authorization and evaluation processes, ensuring full compliance with IB expectations.

Student Support & Engagement

• Foster inquiry, reflection, and global awareness in line with the IB Learner Profile attributes.
• Mentor students in Extended Essays related to Economics or Business topics, offering guidance on research and analysis.
• Support participation in relevant conferences, business simulations, and sustainability-driven projects.
  

Professional Responsibilities

• Engage in ongoing IB-approved professional development, workshops, and seminars.
• Maintain accurate records of academic progress and communicate effectively with parents and guardians.
• Contribute meaningfully to school-wide initiatives promoting holistic student development and IB mission alignment.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Master’s degree in Economics, Business Management, or related field.
• Excellent understanding of the IB DP Economics & Business Management curriculum, assessment requirements, and philosophy.
• Proven experience teaching in an IB school.
