HW Test Engineer

Role Overview: You will be joining an exciting area of tech that is reshaping the data storage industry. As a Hardware Test Engineer based in Bangalore, your main responsibility will be to develop test solutions for SSD products in a high-volume manufacturing environment. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with overall product and manufacturing goals. Key Responsibilities: - Test Software Development: - Design, develop, and deploy software solutions for testing SSD storage hardware in a manufacturing setting. - Enhance existing test software for greater efficiency, scalability, and integration, in line with hardware requirements. - Hardware Debugging: - Gain a basic understanding of the SSD storage hardware. - Diagnose and resolve problems within the manufacturing test environment, including failure analysis and troubleshooting across different platforms. - Cross-Functional Collaboration: - Drive test requirements to cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with overall product and manufacturing goals. - Maintain close coordination with global teams for feedback incorporation into the test tools. - Contract Manufacturer (CM) Communication and Proto Build Management: - Act as the main technical interface between the company and CMs to ensure accurate communication of test requirements and process updates. - Manage prototype builds, ensuring effective execution of test plans and prompt addressing of any issues. - Continuous Improvement: - Lead initiatives to enhance test procedures and tools, focusing on improved debugging, failure handling, and overall testing efficiency. Qualifications Required: - Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. - 3+ years of experience in software development for hardware manufacturing test tools. - Software Development Expertise: Proficiency in Python or similar object-oriented programming languages. - Program Management: Ability to plan and execute hardware test programs, manage risks, coordinate cross-functional teams, and communicate results effectively. - Test Plan Development: Capability to create detailed test plans from hardware schematics and design documentation for comprehensive hardware validation. - Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills dedicated to improving test processes and software tools. - Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with experience working in cross-functional and geographically distributed teams. - Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments is a plus. - Prior experience working with a hyperscaler company is advantageous. - Lean Six Sigma certification is preferred.
