HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICER

As a Human Resources Officer within the United Nations Secretariat, your role will involve working in various locations including field missions. You will be responsible for specialized functions such as talent sourcing, administration of entitlements, human resources planning, and supporting staff development and career progression. You will typically report to the Head of the Unit, Chief of Section, Senior Human Resources Officer, or Chief of Administration. Your main responsibilities will include managing human resources functions, supporting staff development initiatives, administering entitlements, and contributing to human resources planning efforts within the organization. The ideal candidate for this position should possess the following competencies: - Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment - Excellent organizational and analytical abilities - Knowledge of human resources policies and practices - Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion Candidates are required to have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree in a relevant field is desirable. In addition to educational qualifications, candidates should have at least 2-4 years of relevant work experience in human resources management, talent acquisition, staff development, or a related area. Experience working in an international organization or field mission is an advantage. Proficiency in English is required for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language is an asset.
