Description
As an HP UX Server Operating System Management Support, your role involves providing server management services to enhance the service quality for business users. This includes managing the customers' in-scope server environment at their DC and DR sites. Your responsibilities include: - Monitoring health status and availability of servers - Checking log files for critical events - Fixing critical events - Reporting availability of OS - Analyzing performance issues at the OS level - Managing OS shutdown, startup, and reboot - Performing disk space management - Adding, removing, and modifying user accounts - Managing file permissions and access - Creating and performing OS backup and restoration - Implementing root disk mirroring - Updating new OS patches - Configuring kernel settings - Managing vPars (Create/Boot/Modify/Rest/Remove) - Monitoring CPU, Memory, Disk, and share management - Managing logical and physical disk from storage in HP UX - Escalating disk, file, and share incidents as needed - Managing services for server availability - Updating patches regularly and security-related mandatory patches - Modifying permissions and privileges for users and groups - Performing SAN Zoning and configuring/installing Data Protector Backup App - Managing backups, including scheduling, on-demand, jobs, restarts, and media - Restoring data following backup policy guidelines - Providing recommendations for backup policies and procedures - Knowledge of Ignite backup, DRD clone, HPE Blade Servers, 3PAR Storage Devices, and SAN Switch Management - Creation of SAN Zoning and administration of backup applications like Data Protector Qualifications required for this role include: - Bachelor's degree or Diploma - At least 5 years of relevant domain experience - Technical skills and knowledge in HPE UX Server, Storage, and Data Protector Application Please note: This job is onsite with general shift timings, and remote support may be required during the night when necessary.
