As a developer at Zebra, you will assist external developers in integrating Zebra products into their applications. This involves creating source code examples, developing in-depth How-to guides, answering and moderating technical forum questions, advising on best practices for integrating Zebra products, and developing customer-specific applications. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing applications to expose the capabilities of various SDKs, expanding the capabilities and interface of the SDKs, and advising product management and internal developers on how best to meet the needs of the ISV community. You will also prepare written documentation of a quality suitable for dissemination, document API, code, and update preexisting documentation. It is essential to keep abreast of developments in the field of software languages, techniques, and methods, investigate problems, recommend solutions, and implement any required corrective action. You will manage multiple projects and engagements, estimate time to complete, and organize tasks in a manner consistent with the priority of each project. Moreover, you will integrate independent software vendors (ISV) applications into automated test suites to verify operation with upgraded Zebra products and perform other duties as assigned. Your responsibilities will include designing, developing, and testing on a variety of software assignments that constitute a portion of a larger project. You will develop and test documentation that describes the specific software functionality, participate in project code reviews, run software tests designed by more experienced engineers, review test results, and perform root cause analyses to identify problems. Providing recommendations and implementing solutions to complex issues, ensuring compliance with quality processes and standards, making changes to or upgrading existing software, and enhancing and improving existing technologies to apply to new solutions are also part of your role. You will make and implement recommendations to your immediate team to enhance performance and improve productivity, seek out new tools to analyze and solve problems, and exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. While receiving general instructions on routine work, new projects, or assignments, you may provide guidance to non-exempt personnel. Building productive working relationships internally and externally, primarily intra-organizational with occasional inter-organizational and external customer contacts on routine matters is also critical. To qualify for this position, you should preferably have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in an appropriate engineering discipline.
