Role & responsibilities

Assign ICD-10-CM Codes:
Apply correct diagnosis codes for patients receiving care at home, including chronic conditions, post-surgical recovery, or injuries.
Ensure Compliance:
Verify that coding aligns with CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) and OASIS (Outcome and Assessment Information Set) guidelines.
Review Documentation:
Analyze physician notes, nursing records, and therapy documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Support Billing & Reimbursement:
Provide coding that ensures proper reimbursement for home health agencies.
Maintain Productivity Standards:
Meet industry benchmarks for coding speed and accuracy.
Collaborate with Clinical Staff:
Work with nurses, therapists, and physicians to clarify diagnoses and documentation.
