A reputed International School in Bangalore is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Head of Department – English to lead their English faculty for the IBDP and IGCSE programmes. The ideal candidate will possess a deep passion for English language and literature, proven expertise in international curricula, and strong leadership skills to inspire both students and teachers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the English Department in planning, delivering, and reviewing the IBDP and IGCSE English Language & Literature curriculum.
• Mentor and guide English faculty members, fostering professional growth and collaborative teaching practices.
• Develop engaging lesson plans and assessment strategies aligned with international standards.
• Monitor and enhance student performance through innovative teaching and learning methodologies.
• Coordinate with academic leadership to ensure curriculum coherence and excellence.
• Organise literary events, debates, and workshops to enrich the school’s cultural and academic life.
• Maintain updated knowledge of IBDP/IGCSE assessment frameworks and subject developments.
• Ensure effective use of resources, technology integration, and differentiated learning techniques.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Master’s in English along with B.Ed in English and prior IBDP/MYP leadership experience in an educational setting.
• Minimum 8–10 years of teaching experience, including at least 5 years in IBDP / IGCSE programmes.
• Prior experience as HOD or Academic Coordinator in an international school setting preferred.
• Strong understanding of Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) and International Baccalaureate (IB) requirements.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Commitment to academic excellence and holistic education.
