Position Summary

The Medical Director will provide leadership and oversight for the hospitals clinical services, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-cantered care. This role is responsible for establishing clinical policies, ensuring the implementation of best medical practices, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to optimize hospital operations and patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Clinical Leadership

    :
    • Provide clinical oversight and leadership to all medical staff within the hospital.
    • Ensure high standards of care, consistent with evidence-based practices and industry standards.
    • Collaborate with department heads to review patient care practices, policies, and protocols to improve quality and safety.
  2. Policy and Procedure Development

    :
    • Lead the development and implementation of medical protocols, clinical pathways, and hospital policies.
    • Ensure compliance with accreditation standards, government regulations, and hospital guidelines.
    • Participate in committees related to quality improvement, patient safety, and medical affairs.
  3. Collaboration with Administration

    :
    • Work closely with the hospital administration, including the CEO and other senior leadership, to align medical services with overall hospital goals.
    • Provide strategic input on hospital growth, resource allocation, and capital planning from a clinical perspective.
  4. Medical Staff Management

    :
    • Oversee the recruitment, training, and evaluation of medical staff.
    • Address performance issues and provide professional development opportunities for physicians and clinicians.
    • Foster a positive, collaborative work environment among medical professionals.
  5. Quality Assurance and Improvement

    :
    • Lead efforts in monitoring clinical outcomes and implementing quality assurance programs.
    • Analyze patient care data and identify opportunities for improvement in medical processes and outcomes.
    • Ensure that patient safety protocols are followed and adverse events are reported and addressed promptly.
  6. Regulatory Compliance

    :
    • Ensure that the hospital complies with all relevant healthcare regulations, including those set by accrediting bodies (e.g., Joint Commission).
    • Monitor and ensure compliance with medical licensure requirements, billing practices, and ethical standards.
  7. Patient Care and Advocacy

    :
    • Advocate for high-quality, patient-centered care in all aspects of the hospital’s operations.
    • Be involved in resolving complex or sensitive patient care issues that may arise.
  8. Financial Stewardship

    :
    • Participate in budgeting and resource allocation discussions, ensuring that clinical services are delivered efficiently and within budgetary constraints.
    • Recommend cost-effective solutions for medical procedures, equipment, and staffing.

Qualifications

  • Education

    : MBBS , Post graduate in Hospital Administration

  • Experience

    :
    • Minimum of 7 years of clinical experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role within a hospital or healthcare setting.
    • Proven track record in medical management, quality improvement, and hospital operations.
    • Experience working with diverse teams and leading interdisciplinary initiatives.
  • Skills and Abilities

    :
    • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to manage complex medical and administrative tasks simultaneously.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Deep knowledge of healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and best clinical practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and hospital information systems.
  • Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration (MHA) or Business Administration (MBA) is a plus.
