Hiring AME / SME in Peer Review (JEO) with 4+ years of experience

We are hiring AME/SME for Peer Review role at KGL.

Role:

Job Summary:

Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Provide excellent customer service to all external and internal journal stakeholders (e.g., editors, authors, publishers, colleagues).

2. Ensure contractual requirements and service level agreements for assigned client workflows are met.

3. Oversee journal inbox and handle escalations.

4. Update and maintain accurate protocols for editorial workflows.

5. Train and manage support staff performing daily peer review, editorial, and/or production tasks.

6. Inform managers of staff errors and/or client feedback immediately and ensure that any issues which could impact customer satisfaction are resolved rapidly (internal escalations).

7. Be a proficient user of the manuscript management system, from workflow optimization to using system reports for monitoring timeliness and other indicators of journal health.

8. Utilize KGL Editorials cloud-based technology as a communication and productivity tool.

9. Proofread and refine correspondence and information going to journal stakeholders for grammar and clarity (e.g., decision letters, instructions for authors and reviewers).

10. Prepare agendas, complex system, or other reports, and/or presentations for editorial meetings.

11. Handle invited manuscripts and other special content workflows including special issues and supplements

12. Administer social media.

13. Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

1. A minimum of 4-5 years working in the editorial office of a scholarly journal

2. Knowledge of scholarly publishing processes and best practices

3. Excellent oral and written communication skills

4. Experience with one or more manuscript management systems (e.g., Editorial Manager, ScholarOne Manuscripts, eJournal Press)

5. Social media experience

6. Proficiency with standard office technology (e.g., Microsoft Office, teleconferencing, SharePoint)

7. Postgraduate/PhD in Life science or Humanities

8. Own a Laptop of 8/16 GB Ram and Broadband connection
