Head Operations

Role & responsibilities

The Head of Operations will play a critical role in scaling Simpliforges operations, ensuring end-to-end execution excellence across multiple projects while building strong operational systems for growth. This role demands a strategic leader with hands-on operational expertise in construction, a passion for process innovation, and the ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects in both public and private sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic & Leadership Responsibilities

Develop and execute operations strategy aligned with Simpliforges growth roadmap and business objectives.

Work in close collaboration with the CEO/COO to lead, scale, and optimize company operations, bridging strategic vision with on-ground execution.

Build and lead a strong multi-disciplinary operations team (operations managers, site managers, engineers, site teams, procurement, QA/QC, logistics).

Drive a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement across all operations.

Project & Site Management

Plan, oversee, and execute 3DCP projects from initiation to handover, ensuring timely delivery, quality assurance, and budget adherence.

Define and implement standardized project management frameworks ( SOPs, KPIs) tailored to 3DCP projects.

Monitor weekly project progress and proactively resolve bottlenecks in site execution, supply chain, or manpower deployment.

Ensure strict adherence to HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) protocols on all sites.

Collaborate with design and engineering teams to align digital models (BIM/CAD/3D design files) with on-site print execution.

Operational Excellence

Standardize and optimize printing processes, material preparation, pumping, and curing methods for large-scale deployment.

Establish and monitor operational KPIs: productivity rates, print speed, material wastage, turnaround times, Operations and Mgmt efficiency.

Drive cost efficiency initiatives through improved planning, resource utilization, and vendor negotiations.

Leverage data, analytics, and reporting tools to forecast risks, identify inefficiencies, and recommend solutions.

Stakeholder & Client Management

Act as the primary operational point of contact for clients, contractors, consultants, and government bodies.

Ensure smooth coordination with defence authorities, commercial/real estate developers, infrastructure agencies, and institutional partners.

Build long-term relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and raw material suppliers to secure cost and quality advantages.

Prepare and present progress reports and project documentation for leadership and clients.

Timely payment certification, invoicing and follow-up on client receivables.

Technology & Innovation Adoption

Stay updated on global advancements in 3DCP, robotics, and automated construction technologies.

Partner with R&D and engineering teams to scale new material formulations, print methodologies, and automated systems.

Introduce and implement digital tools (BIM, ERP, project scheduling software) to increase transparency and efficiency.

Drive pilot-to-scale transition for innovative applications (defence infra, housing, landscape elements, walls, commercial/industrial infra).

People & Team Development

Recruit, train, and mentor engineers, site supervisors/managers, and operators specialized in 3DCP construction methods.

Foster a performance-driven culture with clear goals, accountability mechanisms, and professional growth opportunities.

Conduct regular training programs on 3DCP technology, safety, quality control, and advanced construction practices.

Preferred candidate profile

Educational Background

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (mandatory).

Master’s degree in Construction/Project Management, Operations, or related fields (preferred; Higher experience in lieu of the same is acceptable).

Experience

10+ years of experience in civil/construction industry, with at least 5 years in senior leadership or operations management roles.

Proven track record of delivering mid-to-large scale infrastructure/construction projects (preferably defense, industrial, or housing).

Experience in startup or new-technology environments is highly desirable.

Exposure to 3D Concrete Printing, modular construction, or prefabrication is an added advantage.

Core Skills

Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, contracts, procurement, and project management frameworks (Project Libre, MS Project, etc.).
