Job Description: As the Head of IB MYP at Oakridge International School, Gachibowli, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and management of the Middle Years Programme (MYP). Your role will involve ensuring the effective implementation of the MYP curriculum, fostering an environment of academic excellence, and supporting the personal and professional development of students. You will work closely with faculty members, senior leadership, and the wider school community to maintain and elevate the school's commitment to the IB philosophy and values. Key Responsibilities: - Leadership & Management: - Lead the day-to-day operations of the MYP, ensuring smooth implementation and alignment with the IB framework and the school's vision. - Supervise and support MYP faculty members, fostering a collaborative and reflective teaching culture. - Oversee MYP curriculum planning, ensuring it is rigorous, relevant, and in line with IB expectations. - Act as the primary contact for all matters related to MYP, liaising with the IB Organization, parents, students, and staff. - Curriculum & Instruction: - Guide the development, review, and evaluation of the MYP curriculum in collaboration with subject leaders and teachers. - Promote interdisciplinary teaching and learning, ensuring that students develop the skills and knowledge expected by the MYP. - Ensure that the MYP assessment practices are consistent, fair, and aligned with IB requirements. - Lead the integration of MYP principles in cross-curricular projects and activities. - Professional Development: - Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to MYP teachers to foster continuous professional growth. - Plan and deliver professional development workshops and sessions for faculty related to the MYP framework. - Stay current with IB updates, trends in education, and best practices to ensure the school's MYP remains innovative and relevant. Required Skills/Abilities: - Strong leadership and management skills. - Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. - In-depth knowledge of the IB Middle Years Programme. - Ability to mentor and support faculty members. - Skill in curriculum planning and development. - Commitment to fostering academic excellence and personal growth in students.
