Head Legal - Devices Business

Purpose

This role is responsible for providing comprehensive legal support across multiple business verticals, including Devices, Distribution, IoT, Cloud, and Procurement. The incumbent will lead contract drafting, negotiation, and execution processes while ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. The position demands a strong business acumen, assertive decision-making, and the ability to partner effectively with business leaders to enable growth within a legally compliant framework.

Key Responsibilities

A. Devices, Distribution, and Channel Development

• Develop new templates for Channel Partner Onboarding.
• Manage execution processes such as Aadhaar-based, OTP-based, JioSign, and wet-signature modes.
• Draft and review e-commercerelated agreements, including those with recharge aggregators and payment facilitators.

B. Procurement Domestic and Overseas

• Draft and review procurement and software license agreements.
• Prepare and finalize service-related agreements (e.g., manpower services, after-sales services).

C. Internet of Things (IoT)

• Draft and review agreements related to IoT products such as smart meters, digital signage, hospitality solutions, connected cars, and asset tracking.
• Review and advise on tender and bid-related documents.

D. Cloud Services

• Review and negotiate customer-side and vendor-side contracts, including Terms & Conditions, MoUs, and related documentation.

E. Litigations

• Handle end-to-end litigation matters related to devices and distribution, in coordination with State Legal Teams.

F. Miscellaneous

• Review and negotiate Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs).
• Draft and review enterprise customer agreements (COCP, IOIP, JioFi devices, new connections).
• Prepare consultant appointment documents and inter-company agreements.
• Handle compliance documents related to devices, including Legal Metrology and Warranty Cards.

Qualification

• LLB is mandatory.
• Additional qualifications such as Company Secretary (ACS) or Master's in Law (LL.M) from a reputed university are preferred.
• 1520 years of relevant corporate legal experience in Telecom, IoT, ITES, Distribution, or Software Technology industries.
