Job Description

Job Title Head: Engineering (Transformers & Reactors) Requirement Graduate in Electrical / Power Electronics / Electronics Responsibility – He will be responsible for 1. Design of transformers & Reactors 2. Pre order discussions with customer, enquiry handling, costing, preparation of technical specifications, cost optimization for getting orders 3. Preparation of drawings for approval & Technical discussions with customer for drawing approval. 4. Preparation of manufacturing drawings, BoMs, checking of fabrication drawings, schematics, general assembly and other manufacturing drawings. 5. Technical support to Purchase, production & testing as and when required 6. Technical support to commissioning / servicing team as and when required. Experience – 12-15 Years or more in the design of transformers especially for rectifiers of MW scale & reactors Essential Skills & Knowledge – 1. Ability & experience to design converter grade transformers 2. Knowledge of various types of winding types. 3. Ability to design transformer for multi pulse rectifier application 4. Ability to select appropriate winding for given rating & configuration 5. Thermal calculations for various cooling methods 6. Ability to design for specified harmonic contents (K factor) 7. Design of reactors / chokes 8. Design of hermetically sealed transformers. 9. Design of transformer for type testing 10. Ability to design oil cooled as well as air cooled transformers (VPI & CRT) 11. Knowledge about various painting specifications 12. Knowledge of IP rating for enclosures 13. Knowledge of relevant national & international standards for transformer 14. Costing & cost optimization techniques 15. Preparation of SoPs, flowchart, assembly procedures etc 16. Technical discussions with customer 17. Experience in handling the team of design engineers 18. Knowledge of complete design cycle for example design inputs, design reviews, design verifications, design validation etc. 19. Aware of design change procedure 20. Manage and mentor a team of design engineers 21. Develop and implement design standards and processes 22. Provide technical support for commissioning and servicing 23. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, production, and testing 24. Manage projects from concept to delivery 25. Design and develop transformers and reactors for various applications 26. Lead the design team for transformers and reactors Desirable Skills & knowledge – 1. Fluency in software’s like AutoCAD, e plan 2. Knowledge of Thyristor & IGBT rectifiers 3. Calculations for harmonics, power factor etc. 4. Participated type tests in past. 5. Commissioning and servicing of transformers at site 6. Mechanical design aspects of transformer 7. Knowledge of quality tools, root cause analysis and CAPA. 8. Facing internal & external QMS / EMS auditors
