Head - Engineering - Specialty Steel Greenfield Projects

Lead the engineering function for expanding production capacity from 700,000 TPA to 1.3 TPA in a Speciality Steel Greenfield Project. Responsible for end-to-end engineering planning, design, and deliveryfocused on deploying Best Available Technology (BAT), optimizing design, executing value engineering, and ensuring on-time and within-budget project completion.

The role involves managing multi-disciplinary engineering subcontractors and consultants, and providing strategic support for technology upgrades and equipment maintenance in existing operations. Enhancing operational efficiency through deployment of new machinery is also a critical function.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Seniority:

• 1520 years of steel industry experience with at least 5 years in a leadership role in project engineering. Proficient in modern project management methodologies.

• Domain Experience:

• Metals and mining (preferably integrated operations), Industrial Products, Capital Goods, Process Industries. Demonstrated success in strategic project execution, technology evaluation, and process enhancement.

• Background:

• Engineering consulting and project management professionals from firms like Bechtel, Tecpro Systems, MECON, Dastur, CBRI, etc., are suitable.

• Project Scale:

• Proven track record leading engineering for greenfield or major expansion projects, either as a standalone business or within a larger enterprise.

• Qualifications:

• BE/BTech/MTech and MBA preferred.
• Certifications like PMP, PgMP, PfMP, Prince2 are desirable.

• IT Skillset:

• Proficiency in project planning software like Microsoft Project (MSP), Primavera P6, and other engineering project tools.
