Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Estate & Infrastructure Management

  • Oversee maintenance of school estate, hostels, staff quarters and campus facilities.
  • Supervise construction, renovation and repair works ensuring quality, timeliness and cost control.
  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors and service providers for infrastructure projects.

Legal & Compliance

  • Assist the Principal in handling legal matters, documentation and compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Liaise with legal advisors and ensure timely submission of reports, contracts and agreements.

Procurement & Financial Control

  • Arrange fair quotations, manage purchase of goods, services and equipment in line with institutional policies under the guidance of Principal.
  • Ensure transparent vendor selection, negotiation and inventory management in consultation with the Principal.
  • Support financial planning, budgeting and expenditure monitoring for administrative operations.

Staff Management (NonTeaching)

  • Supervise recruitment, deployment and performance of administrative, support and residential staff.
  • Ensure discipline, efficiency and welfare of nonteaching staff.
  • Conduct regular training and orientation programmes for support staff.
  • Deal with Class IV Union matters, ensuring fair negotiation, conflict resolution and maintenance of harmonious relations between staff and administration.

Safety & Security

  • Implement and monitor safety protocols for students, staff and residents of the campus.
  • Oversee security arrangements, emergency preparedness and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Coordinate with hostel superintendents and security personnel to maintain a safe environment.
  • Organize safety drills periodically.

Transport Management

  • Supervise school transport operations including buses, drivers and routes.
  • Ensure safety standards, punctuality, and maintenance of vehicles.
  • Address transportrelated concerns of parents and students.

Liaison & Community Relations

  • Act as a liaison with local administration, government bodies and service agencies.
  • Represent the school in official matters and ensure smooth coordination with external stakeholders.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Graduate/Postgraduate degree in Administration, Management, or relevant discipline (MBA preferred).
  • Minimum 8 to 15 years of experience in administrative management in a residential school
  • Strong knowledge of estate management, procurement processes and statutory compliance.
  • Experience in handling legal matters and financial control will be an added advantage.
