Job Summary
EMO Energy, a pioneering EV battery technology company, is seeking an experienced Lead Hardware Engineer to spearhead the design, testing, and optimization of advanced hardware systems for cutting-edge battery solutions. This role requires a strong focus on PCB design, testing, and debugging, as well as working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative and reliable solutions for sustainable transportation.
What You Will Do
- Lead the end-to-end PCB design and developmentprocess,s including high-performance schematic and PCB layouts for hardware systems using industry-leading tools such as Altium, OrCAD, or Eagle, ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Conduct comprehensive hardware testing and debugging to ensure compliance with safety and performance standards, identifying and resolving hardware issues effectively.
- Ensure seamless integration of hardware with software, firmware, and mechanical components, optimizing hardware for power electronics applications, particularly in battery management systems (BMS).
- Develop and refine detailed testing protocols, maintaining thorough documentation of processes, test results, and hardware configurations.
- Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers to optimize production processes and address design challenges, ensuring smooth transitions from prototyping to production.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, promoting skill development and fostering an environment of innovation.
- Oversee hardware development projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and deliverables aligned with company objectives.
- Stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in EV hardware systems, applying insights to enhance hardware performance and drive innovation.
What We re Looking For:
- Bachelor s or Master s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
- 6-12+ years in hardware engineering, with a proven track record of designing, testing, and troubleshooting hardware.
- Expertise in PCBdesignn using tools like Altium, OrCAD, or Eagle.
- Proficiency in at least one leading Layout & Testing Management (LTM) software.
- In-depth knowledge of testing and debugging techniques for electronic hardware systems.
- Familiarity with power electronics and battery management system design and experience leading projects from concept to production in a dynamic, fast-pacedenvironment..
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities. Alsothe abilityy to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of EV battery technology and associated industry standards, experience with EMI/EMC testing andcompliance,e and familiarity with simulation tools for hardware design.
