Job Description

GST

1. GST Compliance & Returns

  • Preparation and filing of GST returns:

    GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-2B reconciliation

  • Monitoring

    GST payment

    (CGST, SGST, IGST)
  • Ensuring

    timely filing

    to avoid late fees and interest

2. Input Tax Credit (ITC) Management

  • Reconciliation of

    purchase register vs GSTR-2B

  • Follow-up with vendors for missing or incorrect invoices
  • Ensuring eligibility and proper availing of ITC

3. GST Accounting & Documentation

  • Maintaining GST records, invoices, debit/credit notes
  • Classification of goods/services under correct

    HSN/SAC codes

  • Verification of tax invoices as per GST rules

4. GST Audit & Assessment Support

  • Assisting during

    GST audit, notices, and departmental queries

  • Preparation of replies to GST notices
  • Coordination with consultants / CA

1. TDS Deduction & Compliance

  • Deduction of TDS as per

    Income Tax Act

    (Sections 192, 194C, 194J, 194I, etc.)
  • Timely

    deposit of TDS

    to government account
  • Monitoring challans (ITNS-281)

2. TDS Returns Filing

  • Preparation and filing of

    TDS returns

    :
    • 24Q

      – Salary
    • 26Q

      – Non-salary
    • 27Q

      – NRI payments
  • Rectification of errors and filing of correction statements

3. Form 16 / 16A Handling

  • Generation and issuance of

    Form 16 & Form 16A

  • Ensuring correct reflection in

    Form 26AS / AIS

4. Reconciliation & Reporting

  • Reconciliation of:
    • TDS ledger vs challans
    • Returns vs 26AS
  • Monthly and quarterly TDS reports to management

5. Notices & Assessments

  • Handling

    TDS notices

    (TRACES portal)
  • Responding to short deduction / non-deduction cases
  • Coordination with auditors and tax consultants

Common Responsibilities (GST + TDS Executive)

  • Compliance with

    statutory deadlines

  • Maintaining accurate records and reports
  • Coordination with

    Accounts, HR, Vendors, and Consultants

  • Supporting audits and internal reviews
  • Using ERP / Accounting software (Tally, SAP, Zoho, etc.)

Key Skills Required

  • Strong knowledge of

    GST & Income Tax

  • Excel & accounting software proficiency
  • Attention to detail & compliance mindset
  • Good communication & coordination skills
