Group Lead - Energy Storage System

As an Engineering & Reliability Specialist for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), your role will involve planning, organizing, and ensuring the engineering and reliability of BESS with a focus on scaling up the system to GW power within approved budgets and cost optimization measures. Key Responsibilities: - Accountable for the engineering & reliability of energy storage systems, including detailed design review with DEC - Responsible for the engineering of BESS systems integration with the Grid according to industry benchmarks and international standards - Selection of appropriate Battery and Power Converters for integration as BESS system package - Commissioning and testing of Battery Energy Storage System along with Power Converters in coordination with DEC, OEM & user teams - Periodic review of Performance monitoring & benchmarking as per international standards - Continuous improvement in design and modification through active interaction with stakeholders and optimizing engineering practices - Overseeing statutory and regulatory compliance at the engineering stage - Preparation and review of engineering specification documents for energy storage systems - Liaising with OEMs / packagers / consultants to stay updated on the latest trends in technology, design, etc. - Support for procurement/services scope finalization, vendor selection, and validation for BESS - Implementing continuous improvement techniques, upgrades, projects, and advanced diagnostic and online condition monitoring techniques to improve reliability - Standardization of best maintenance practices related to energy storage systems - Identifying training needs and facilitating learning and skill development of Engineers at sites in energy storage systems - Prioritizing and setting milestones for the team and coordinating with technology vertical heads for commercializing new schemes/processes - Evaluating repairs & refurbishment facilities for energy storage systems - Representing the organization in various industrial forums, participating in national-level conferences, seminars, and other networking events related to energy storage system Qualifications Required: - BE / B Tech / M Tech in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Power Electronics - 15 years of experience in detailed engineering of Power electronics Converters & BESS The skills required for this role include: - Profound knowledge in detailed engineering of BESS & Power Converter systems - Knowledge of power electronics principles, practices, and codes and standards associated with various systems and equipment - Functional expertise in developing/reviewing robust design basis and guidelines for systems - Ability to review and optimize Layout, Electrical SLD, BOQ, etc. - Knowledge of the latest technological trends in the Power electronics & Energy Storage sector - Knowledge of tools for simulation, modeling, and configuration of systems - Knowledge of system sizing calculations and integration techniques - Participation in and conducting design reviews with all cross-functional teams - Knowledge of industrial testing procedures In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the engineering and reliability of BESS systems, integrating them with the Grid, and implementing best maintenance practices to optimize performance and efficiency.,
