Group Lead - Energy Storage System

The primary responsibility of this role is to plan, organize, and ensure the engineering and reliability of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) with a focus on scaling up the system to GW power while adhering to approved budgets and cost optimization measures. You will be accountable for various aspects related to the engineering and reliability of energy storage systems, including detailed design review, systems integration with the grid, selection of appropriate batteries and power converters, commissioning and testing, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement in design and modification. Additionally, you will oversee statutory and regulatory compliance, preparation and review of engineering specification documents, liaison with OEMs and consultants to stay updated on technological trends, support procurement activities, and standardize maintenance practices. Your role will also involve identifying training needs and facilitating learning and skill development for engineers at various sites, setting milestones for the team, coordinating with technology vertical heads for commercializing new schemes/processes, evaluating repairs and refurbishment facilities, representing the organization in industrial forums and networking events, and participating in national-level conferences and seminars related to energy storage systems. To excel in this position, you should possess profound knowledge in detailed engineering of BESS and Power Converter systems, familiarity with power electronics principles, practices, and industry standards, expertise in developing and reviewing design guidelines, the ability to optimize layouts and electrical systems, and awareness of the latest technological trends in the power electronics and energy storage sector. Additionally, you should be proficient in simulation tools, system sizing calculations, integration techniques, and industrial testing procedures. The ideal candidate for this role should hold a BE/B.Tech/M.Tech degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Electronics and have at least 15 years of experience in detailed engineering of power electronics converters and BESS.,
