Job Description

Position Overview

Ground Staff are responsible for the smooth handling of passengers, baggage, cargo, and aircraft support services at the airport. They ensure safe, efficient, and customer-friendly operations in compliance with aviation regulations and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

Passenger Handling:

  • Assist passengers with check-in, boarding, and disembarkation.
  • Handle reservations, ticketing, seat allocation, and boarding passes.
  • Guide passengers through security, immigration, and customs formalities.
  • Provide special assistance to elderly passengers, children, and persons with reduced mobility.

Baggage & Cargo Handling:

  • Supervise and assist with baggage check-in, tagging, loading, and unloading.
  • Ensure safe handling of cargo, luggage, and mail in compliance with security rules.
  • Address baggage irregularities (lost/damaged baggage) and coordinate with relevant teams.

Ramp & Aircraft Services:

  • Coordinate aircraft turnaround activities (catering, fueling, cleaning, loading).
  • Assist in marshaling aircraft and ensuring safety on the ramp/apron.
  • Maintain communication with pilots, engineers, and air traffic control as required.

Customer Service:

  • Respond to passenger inquiries and resolve complaints professionally.
  • Provide flight updates, boarding announcements, and information.
  • Maintain high standards of hospitality and brand representation.

Qualifications

  • Minimum: 10+2 / Graduate in any discipline.
  • Strong communication skills (English and local language).
  • Knowledge of airport procedures, security protocols, and aviation regulations preferred.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle large volumes of passengers.
  • Pleasant personality, customer-oriented, and professional appearance.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in airline or airport ground handling operations.
  • Familiarity with Departure Control Systems (DCS) and airport management systems.
  • Problem-solving ability with attention to detail.
  • Teamwork and adaptability in rotational shifts.

Work Conditions

  • Based at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Coimbatore, Cochin, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Mysore, Rajkot, Vadodara
  • Shift-based work, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Requires standing for long hours and working in indoor/outdoor airport environments.
