Graphic Designer

The Role:

Key Responsibilities

• Digital Magazine Layout & Design: Create visually engaging and reader-friendly layouts for our weekly digital issues using Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator etc..
• Web & Social Media Graphics: Design a variety of assets for our social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.), including featured images, promotional banners, infographics, and story assets.
• Brand Stewardship: Ensure all visual content consistently adheres to and elevates our brand guidelines.
• Collaboration: Partner directly with editors and writers to conceptualize and develop visual stories that complement and enhance the written content.
• Project Management: Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, meeting tight daily deadlines without compromising on creativity or quality.
• Innovation: Stay current with design trends, especially in digital publishing and social media, and propose fresh ideas to improve our visual content.

What We're Looking For (Qualifications & Experience)

• 3-5 years of professional graphic design experience, preferably within a digital publishing, media, or agency environment.
• A strong portfolio that demonstrates expertise in editorial design, typography, and digital layouts.
• Expert proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
• Experience designing for social media platforms and a solid understanding of their respective image specifications and best practices.
• Excellent typographic skills and a keen eye for composition, color, and hierarchy.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced weekly cycle.

Bonus Points (Preferred Qualifications):

• Experience with After Effects or Premiere Pro for creating simple animations or video content (e.g., animated social media graphics).
• Basic knowledge of UI/UX principles or experience designing for web platforms (like WordPress or similar CMS).
