Job Description

As a GL Accountant Finance, your role is crucial in preparing and reviewing financial records to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards and policies. Your responsibilities include: - **General Ledger Maintenance:** - Manage and maintain the general ledger accurately. - Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes. - **Reconciliations:** - Reconcile various accounts like bank accounts and intercompany accounts. - Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly. - **Financial Reporting:** - Prepare financial statements such as balance sheets and income statements. - Ensure compliance with accounting standards and policies. - **Journal Entries:** - Document and approve all journal entries properly. - **Compliance and Audits:** - Ensure adherence to internal controls, company policies, and regulations. - Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation. - **Analysis and Reporting:** - Analyze financial data to identify trends and issues. - Provide management with financial insights and recommendations. - **System Integration and Process Improvement:** - Support financial systems integration and data accuracy. - Identify opportunities for process improvement. - **Tax and Regulatory Support:** - Assist in tax filings and compliance. - Support regulatory reporting requirements. - **Collaboration:** - Liaise with external stakeholders like auditors and tax consultants. - **Other Duties:** - Stay updated on accounting standards and regulations. - Perform additional tasks as assigned. In terms of qualifications, you should have: - Bachelor's Degree or higher diploma in Finance or equivalent. - Experience in a similar position, preferably in a Shipping Company. - Advanced interpersonal and communication skills. Additional Skills required: - Analytical ability. - Experience in data models and reporting packages. - Strong verbal and written communication skills. - Attention to detail. - Proficiency in English & Arabic (preferred). - Background in shipping industry with at least 5 years of experience, preferably in the UAE. This is a full-time position with benefits including health insurance and provident fund. The work location is in person.
