GKE-focused Infrastructure Engineer to manage, maintain, and scale production Kubernetes clusters in Google Cloud (GKE). This role is entirely centered on GKE infrastructure, networking, security, and performance
Key ResponsibilitiesOperate and scale GKE clusters (multi-region, multi-tenant setup)Implement autoscaling, pod networking, node pool managementHandle backup and recovery strategies for GKE workloadsEnsure high availability and zero-downtime deploymentsManage VPC configuration, firewall rules, and service mesh (if any)Troubleshoot container runtime, persistent storage, and ingress issuesWork closely with SRE/Platform teams to implement observability and compliance standardsDocument operational procedures and cluster standardsRequired Skills & Experience4+ years of experience in container orchestration/infrastructure2+ years hands-on with GKE in productionStrong knowledge of Kubernetes internals, pod lifecycle, volumes, taints/tolerationsFamiliar with GCP networking (VPC, subnets, load balancing, PSC, etc.)Comfortable managing GKE across multiple environments (Dev, QA, Prod)PreferredGCP Kubernetes Engine Specialist certificationCertified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)Familiarity with Anthos, Istio, or service mesh concepts
