Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Marketing and Merchandising Management:

  • Oversee all aspects of merchandising and production management, including sampling, fit and preproduction approvals, fabric and trim approvals, testing, and gold seals.
  • Collaborate with QA teams to ensure timely inspection and delivery.
  • Keep buyers and production teams updated on status and developments.

Costing and Negotiation:

  • Handle garment costing and negotiate with both foreign buyers and local buying agents from inquiry to shipment.
  • Independently manage correspondence and dealings with buyers and agents.

Problem Solving and Task Organization:

  • Develop and maintain a TIME & ACTION calendar to ensure all tasks meet deadlines.
  • Address and resolve issues promptly to avoid delays.

Market Analysis and Sample Development:

  • Analyze market trends and buyer requirements to develop creative and innovative samples for marketing.
  • Coordinate with buyers/agencies for the approval of fabric hand loom, strike off, lab dips, trims, lab-testing, etc.

Coordination and Meetings:

  • Conduct regular weekly meetings with the Production Planning and Production Management departments to update daily activities.
  • Track development and production merchandising issues and follow up on trims and fabric deliveries to ensure timely in-house arrival with good quality and quantities.

Monitoring and Inventory Management:

  • Supervise subordinates to ensure proper booking of fabrics and accessories.
  • Monitor daily production status, trims and fabric inventory, and support the factory to ensure smooth production.

Sample Development:

  • Develop samples as per buyer product package/specifications.
  • Approve line review samples, fit samples with comments, size sets, marketing samples, pre-production samples, and shipment samples.

Support to Junior Staff:

  • Assist junior staff with cost and consumption calculations for woven products.
  • Source and collect all necessary accessories from local suppliers within assigned timelines.
