General Manager /Deputy General Manager- Structural Design

Job Summary:

The incumbent will be responsible for leading the structural design and engineering activities for major infrastructure projects. This individual will oversee all structural designs, ensure compliance with relevant codes and regulations, manage design teams, and collaborate across departments to deliver high-quality, cost-effective structural solutions. The role demands strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to navigate complex project requirements in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee the structural design process for large-scale infrastructure projects, ensuring safety, stability, and sustainability.
• Review, validate, and approve structural design proposals, calculations, and detailed drawings.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (architects, MEP engineers, contractors) to ensure integrated and efficient design solutions.
• Ensure that all designs adhere to local and international building codes, industry standards (IS codes, IRC, ACI, Eurocodes, etc.), and regulatory requirements.
• Provide technical guidance to a team of engineers, draftsmen, and consultants to meet project deliverables within timelines and budget.
• Participate in project planning and development phases, offering value engineering solutions to optimize design and cost.
• Conduct periodic design reviews and technical audits, ensuring ongoing compliance and quality assurance.
• Engage with clients, regulatory bodies, and third-party consultants to address queries and secure necessary approvals.
• Lead risk management efforts for structural challenges and propose design modifications as needed during construction.
• Develop and implement best practices, standards, and procedures for structural design, ensuring continual improvement and innovation.
• Mentor and build a high-performing structural design team, fostering professional development and knowledge sharing.

Qualification:

• Bachelors degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (required)
• Masters degree (M.Tech/M.E.) in Structural Engineering (preferred)

Experience:

• Minimum 1722 years of experience in structural design and engineering, with significant exposure to large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Proven track record in designing for large, complex infrastructure projects (airports, bridges, highways, metro systems, industrial structures, etc.).
• Proficient in structural analysis and design software (e.g., STAAD Pro, ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, AutoCAD, Revit Structure).
• Experience in multi-disciplinary project coordination, quality assurance, and client management.
