GBM - Loan Management - Trade Analytics - Associate

The Loan Management team is a business unit within the Global Market's division, primarily supporting the Mortgage Loan Trading and Structured Finance desks. The team is a multi-faceted diligence and asset management platform specializing in whole loan acquisition, sales, securitizations, and financing opportunities. The Loan Management team has product expertise across mortgages, consumer loans, real estate, and warehouse financing.

Loan Management is seeking an Associate/Analyst to support Global Market's Mortgage Loan Trading and Banking trades. The successful candidate will be responsible for the analysis of performing and non-performing loan acquisitions, sales, securitizations, P&L reporting, and back-testing.

Responsibilities:

• Work with the trading desk on various stages of potential non-performing ,re-performing loan and new originations/forward flow bids (NPL/RPL/ New Orig). This includes understanding the pool and bid data, normalizing and loading loan level data into internal databases, analyzing and stratifying pools, determining appropriate modeling assumptions.
• Interact with the Mortgage Banking team on deal securitizations to produce analytics, schedules for the governing documents, accurate loan level data, and work with transaction managers on diligence items
• Understand the month over month portfolio changes and the drivers behind them for all the mortgage whole loan positions on our books. Work with the desk on monthly marking of residential mortgage positions.
• Collaborate with transaction managers and due diligence teams to ensure all post-bid activities data related to final settlement of awarded bids are accurately reflected in the systems
• Provide thoughtful monthly qualitative and quantitative analysis on the key drivers of portfolio performance and recommend actionable strategies to the trading desk
• Produce detailed monthly reports on P&L, returns, cash flows and collateral performance of the loan portfolio across multiple portfolios
• Collaborate across internal teams (Data Management, Operations, Technology, Controllers, Risk and Modeling) to ensure the quality of data, accurate cash processing and valid modeling assumptions.
• Collaborate with external portfolio servicers/managers to understand their business plan and how it tracks against the actual performance. Understand the nuances of every geography while building an understanding of collateral.

Qualifications

• CA or MBA in Finance with strong academic background. CFA preferred.
• 2-3years of experience for Analyst/ 4-6 Years or Associate
• Superior analytical skills and attention to detail
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to manage internal and external relationships.
• Advanced Excel skills with knowledge in advance functions such as vlookup, ifs, sumproducts, index/matches, etc.
• Technical Skills including CAS, Excel VBA, SQL Programming and Tableau a huge plus
• Ability to perform under fast-paced environment with tight time constraint
• Up-to-date with emerging business, economic, and market trends
