Job Description

Perform oxy-fuel gas cutting of steel plates, pipes, and structural materials as per instructions and shipbuilding drawings.
Mark cutting lines using templates, chalk, or laser measurements.
Operate gas cutting torches, nozzles, regulators, hoses, and cylinders safely.
Prepare materials for fabrication, welding, fitting, and assembly.
Remove unwanted metal, rusted sections, or damaged parts on hulls during ship repair.
Ensure correct gas pressure, flame settings, and cutting angles for quality output.
Follow safety protocols for handling flammable gases (oxygen, acetylene, LPG, propane).
Maintain cleanliness and proper storage of cutting tools and consumables.
Assist welders, fabricators, and fitters during hull construction or block assembly.
Inspect completed cuts for accuracy, finish, and dimensional correctness.
Report equipment defects, gas leaks, or hazards immediately.
Ensure compliance with shipyard safety rules, PPE usage, and hazard management.
