Key Responsibilities: Operate oxy-acetylene cutting torches and other gas cutting equipment to cut metal components according to blueprints and project specifications. Measure and mark metal surfaces to determine the correct cut lines. Perform pre-cutting inspection to ensure materials are free from defects and suitable for cutting. Maintain and adjust gas cutting equipment, including checking for gas levels and ensuring proper flame settings. Handle metal materials safely, including moving and positioning pieces for cutting. Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents, including the proper use of protective gear such as goggles, gloves, and flame-resistant clothing. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring tools and equipment are stored properly. Monitor the quality of the cuts to meet required tolerances and specifications. Assist other team members with fabrication, welding, or fitting as needed. Requirements: Proven experience as a Gas Cutter or in a similar role. Proficient in using oxy-acetylene cutting torches and other gas cutting equipment. Ability to read and understand technical drawings and blueprints. Strong understanding of cutting techniques and material properties (steel, aluminum, etc.). Good physical condition and manual dexterity, able to work with heavy materials. Knowledge of safety practices and regulations in a cutting environment. Excellent attention to detail, ensuring high-quality and accurate cuts. Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
