Job Title: Gardener

Location: Luxury Resort, South Goa

Job Summary:

The gardener is responsible for maintaining the resort’s gardens, lawns, and landscaped areas to ensure a beautiful, safe, and welcoming environment for guests. This role involves horticultural tasks, routine upkeep, and collaboration with the maintenance team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Plant, prune, water, and fertilize trees, shrubs, flowers, and lawns.

2. Perform regular weeding, mulching, and pest control activities.

3. Maintain garden beds, borders, and pathways, ensuring they are tidy and free of debris.

4. Operate and maintain gardening equipment such as lawn mowers, trimmers, and irrigation systems.

5. Monitor plant health and report any diseases or issues to the horticulture lead.

6. Assist in the design and implementation of seasonal floral displays and landscaping projects.

7. Manage waste disposal and composting as per resort sustainability practices.

8. Ensure safety standards are followed while working with tools and chemicals.

Requirements:

1. Proven experience in gardening or horticulture, preferably in a resort or hospitality setting.

2. Knowledge of common garden plants, landscaping techniques, and pest management.

3. Ability to operate gardening machinery and tools safely.

4. Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks, lift heavy items, and work in varying weather conditions.

5. Good observation skills and attention to detail.

6. Valid certifications in horticulture or related field are a plus.

Working Conditions:

1. Outdoor work in gardens, lawns, and landscaped areas.

2. Shift work may include early mornings, weekends, and occasional holidays during peak seasons.

3. Exposure to sunlight, rain, and temperature variations.
