We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Fund Manager - Equity to join our investment department. As a Fund Manager, you will play a vital role in managing equity investments ensuring safety, liquidity and returns, in compliance with the guidelines set by the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI). The ideal candidate will have a solid background in equity investments, and experience in managing equity portfolios.

Responsibilities:

1. Portfolio Management:

• Construct and manage equity portfolio along with funds investment strategy and objectives.
• Conduct thorough research and analysis on potential investment opportunities, considering factors such as financial performance, industry trends, and economic conditions.

2. Investment Decision Making:

• Make informed buy/sell/hold decisions based on comprehensive research, financial modelling, and market trends
• Stay updated on market news, economic indicators, and relevant geopolitical events that may impact the portfolio.

3. Risk Management:

• Implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential downsides and ensure the portfolio aligns with the risk tolerance of investors.
• Monitor and assess the overall risk exposure of the fund, making adjustments as necessary.

4. Performance:

• Ensure and evaluate the performance of the portfolio against benchmarks and peer funds.
• Provide detailed performance reports to stakeholders, including top management.

5. Communication:

• Communicate investment strategies, portfolio performance, and market outlook to stakeholders
• Address inquiries and concerns, maintaining a high level of transparency and professionalism.

6. Compliance and Regulatory Adherence:

• Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and industry standards
• Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to uphold ethical standards and adhere to all applicable laws.

7. Team Collaboration:

• Collaborate with research analysts, dealers, and other team members to gather insights and make well-informed decisions
• Foster a collaborative work environment within the investment team.

8. Continuous Learning:

• Stay informed about industry trends, market developments, and new investment strategies
• Pursue professional development opportunities and certifications to enhance expertise.

Qualifications and Experience:

A successful candidate should have at-least 10 years of experience in managing equity investments and have the following qualifications:

• Proven experience as an equity fund manager, preferably in a general insurance company.
• Strong understanding of financial markets, investment principles, and risk management.
• Excellent analytical, technical skills and the ability to make informed investment decisions.
• Knowledge of IRDAI regulations and compliance requirements.
