Functional Test Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Functional & Manual Testing

• Analyze business requirements, functional specifications, and technical design documents to define comprehensive test strategies
  
• Create, review, and maintain

  test plans, test scenarios, and detailed test cases

  for functional, regression, system, and UAT testing
• Execute complex

  end-to-end functional testing

  across multiple applications and releases
• Identify, log, track, and validate defects using tools such as

  JIRA / Azure DevOps / HP ALM

• Perform

  data validation and backend testing

  using SQL queries
• Participate in requirement reviews and provide early feedback to prevent defects
  

Automation Testing (C#)

• Design, develop, and maintain

  automation frameworks using C#

  (Selenium, SpecFlow, NUnit, MSTest, etc.)
• Convert manual test cases into reusable and scalable automation scripts
  
• Maintain and enhance automation suites for regression and smoke testing
  
• Analyze automation results and ensure proper reporting and defect tracking
  
• Integrate automated tests with

  CI/CD pipelines

Collaboration & Leadership

• Work closely with Developers, Product Owners, Business Analysts, and DevOps teams
  
• Mentor junior test engineers and conduct test case and automation code reviews
  
• Drive best practices in testing, test documentation, and quality assurance processes
  
• Participate in release planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 7+ years

  of experience in Functional Testing (Manual + Automation)
• Strong hands-on experience in

  C# automation

• Proficiency in

  SQL

  for data validation and backend testing
• Experience with automation tools:

  Selenium, SpecFlow, NUnit, MSTest

• Solid understanding of

  SDLC, STLC, Agile/Scrum

  methodologies
• Experience in API testing (Postman/REST) is a plus
  
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions) is preferred
  

Nice to Have

• Experience in performance testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner)
  
• Exposure to cloud-based applications (Azure/AWS)
  
• Domain experience in BFSI / Retail / Healthcare (if applicable)
