Software Functional Safety Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Define and cascade functional safety goals and requirements in adherence to ISO 26262.
• Develop safety-related documentation including safety plan, safety case, item definitions, HARAs, FTAs, DFMEAs, etc.
• Ensure all safety requirements are defined, complete, and traceable through verification and validation.
• Work with independent reviewers to audit and ensure functional safety compliance.
• Collaborate with systems, electrical, control software, and test teams from concept phase to production.
• Support development of hazard and risk analyses, functional and technical safety requirements, and robust verification and validation plans.

Preferred candidate profile

• Degree in Engineering
• 6 to 12 years of engineering experience across the entire product lifecycle.
• In-depth knowledge of ISO 26262 and practical implementation in an automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier environment.
• Knowledge of ASPICE processes and Design Verification Plan development
