Fullstack Developer

Role - Full Stack Tech Lead

ESSENTIAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

• Solid Java frontend and backend development experience (minimum 8 years) including JDK[1] FX 8 and JDK 11 (likewise Zulu Open JDK), for Java EE[2] 8 (Payara/GlassFish v5) and Jakarta EE 10 (Payara Server v6) applications, and migration between Master Solutions
• Experience in Apache HTTP/Payara Servers application maintenance  including software component management, compliance/security practices and pro-active improvements
• Experience with SQL Databases (Oracle) – including data modelling, procedures, functions and management at DBA level
• Experience with backend IN, OUT and IN/OUT interfaces – including REST APIs, Kafka, DB/MViews and Message Queues and migration between those
• Using and maintaining CI/CD tools (IntelliJ, GitHub, Nexus, SonarQube) and practices, local and remote debugging – including Docker, Elastic Stack, Kubernetes and 4 wheels guided components, as well as migrating between different platforms
• IT Operations (Incident-, Change-, Problem-management), ITSM (Service Now), JIRA (including integration to Github), Confluence 
• Self-dependent principle of work and willingness to learn continuously 
• Pro-active improvement drive and commitment to consistent exceptional deliveries
• Ability to handle time constrained requirements and emergent situations in productive environment
• Conversational English skills – minimum equivalent B2 level

ADVANTAGEOUS SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, inside the development team and with BMW employees.
• Release and deployment management, including custom deployment procedures to Productive environments 
• Implementation and maintenance of continuous monitoring tools (Grafana, AKHQ, Loki, Kibana)
• User interaction experience on second level support, including foreign users (requiring translation)
• Backlog management and technical specification/refinement of items, from requirement until successful deployable implementation
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with ability to communicate effectively (both verbally and written) with both technical and non-technical colleagues / users

WHICH QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE DO WE NEED FOR THE ROLE?

• Proven Java backend/frontend development experience, including connection to SQL database, minimum of 8 years
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and practices, from debugging/development to Productive deployment and migration of platforms and tools
• Diverse interface implementation, adaptation and maintenance experience, including full scale migrations
• Conversational English skills (minimum B2)

WHAT WILL BE YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES?

Technical lead for Java based large scale application.

You work in a team responsible for assembly planning software for BMW plants, serving as the technical reference for one of two specialized teams and closely cooperating with BMW IT colleagues.
You develop new code for the software and ensure the productive system contains the business and IT requirements requested.You ensure all new code made by your team is made to excellent standards.You manage the technical and functional daily requirements, coming from operations or compliance/security releases.You propose actions to improve system performance and smooth function in production. You interact with other developers, Scrum master, and BMW employees.
