FULL STACK DEVELOPER

Related responsibilities will include:

The Full Stack Developers will work alongside the Oky Business Owner and members of the Oky core team to provide code development, technology support, and quality assurance. Tasks will include, but are not limited to:

Upgrade the master Oky code periodically to the latest stack.
Code new features for the global Oky products based on briefs and UX/UI designs. All the designs and technical scopes will be agreed with the Oky team prior to the commencement of any task.
Conduct security audits and bi-annual penetration testing of the Oky code as per ICTD guidance.
WCGA compliance testing of Oky app. Merge new features developed by Oky country partners into the central Oky code repository, or package them into Github-submodules Retrain the cloud-based prediction engine on a bi-annual basis. Work with the Oky Technology Specialist to support different Oky country partners and their technology teams with developing new features and provide QA, etc. Support the Oky Technology Specialist to quality assure new features in different Oky countries. Review and QA code and pull requests from Oky country partners and or contributors. Provide security patches and updates from Android, iOS, tablet and support Oky country partners and tech teams to integrate the patches. Ensure diligent documentation and README files for code adaptations, additions, etc. Perform other related full stack dev tasks.

The minimum qualifications required are:

Advanced University degree (Masters or higher) in ICT, Computer Science, Engineering or in an area relevant to the Oky.
Progressively responsible professional work experience in ICT/technology fields.
Track record building React Native Applications (both on iOS/Android and tablet).
Strong experience setting up and managing a PostgreSQL database. Previous experience using cloud service providers; knowledge of AWS and Digital Ocean would be a plus. Experience in backend development using Node.js under the express framework. Experience using GitHub to manage code. Familiarity with native build tools, like XCode, Gradle, Android Studio, CacoaPods. Strong familiarity with unit testing. Experience using Kubernetes and Docker. Comfortable with responsive design for tablet and mobile. Previous exposure to analytics platforms such as Firebase and/or Google Analytics. Familiar with open-source technology and approaches. Fluency in English is required.
