Job Description

A French teacher's job description includes:

TeachingProviding French language instruction and education to students of various ages. This includes developing lesson plans, teaching grammar, and grading assignments.
Student supportHelping students improve their French language and culture knowledge. This includes encouraging conversation, assessing student progress, and providing support to help students perform well in French courses.
Classroom managementCreating a safe, stimulating, and respectful learning environment. This includes managing student behavior and organizing a safe physical environment.
School communityContributing to school activities and promoting the school's philosophy and objectives. This includes working with colleagues and parents, and interacting with the wider school community.
CurriculumMaintaining and updating curriculum documents, policies, and examination papers. This includes ensuring that the French syllabus requirements are met.
Professional developmentStaying up to date with relevant developments in the field.

French teachers can work in primary schools, community colleges, universities, and tutoring centers. To become a French teacher, you typically need a bachelor's degree in education or French, and to pass a licensure exam. You should also have a strong understanding of the French language, and demonstrate communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
