FRENCH TEACHER

Role Overview: You will be joining Good Shepherd International School in Ooty, The Nilgiris as a French Teacher for the Middle Years Programme (MYP), International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (DP), and IGCSE curriculum. Your role will involve teaching French to students, preparing them for assessments, fostering an inquiry-based learning environment, and collaborating with colleagues to enhance interdisciplinary learning. Key Responsibilities: - Teach French to students in MYP (grades 6-10), IGCSE (grade 9), and DP (grades 11-12) in alignment with respective curricula. - Develop engaging lesson plans to encourage language acquisition, fluency, and cultural appreciation. - Prepare students for IB DP exams, IGCSE examinations, and MYP assessments. - Guide students in IB Internal Assessments (IA) and Extended Essays (EE) in French. - Foster an inquiry-based learning environment with global perspectives and real-world applications. - Utilize technology and multimedia resources for interactive language learning. - Provide individualized support to students with diverse linguistic backgrounds. - Participate in faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and school events. - Collaborate with colleagues for interdisciplinary learning and curriculum development. - Stay updated with developments in IB, IGCSE, and language pedagogy. Qualifications & Skills: - Masters degree in French Language, Literature, or related field. - IB-certified training preferred with experience teaching MYP, DP, and IGCSE French. - Minimum 5 years of teaching experience in an international school. - Strong understanding of IB assessment criteria and command terms. - Ability to integrate technology effectively into language instruction. - Excellent communication skills and passion for language education. - Commitment to boarding school life and pastoral care activities.
