Job Description

About the Role

highly analytical and detail-oriented Fraud Analyst

Key Responsibilities

Fraud Detection & Case Management

  • Review fraud alerts from monitoring systems and identify suspicious patterns (ACH, wire, card, crypto, etc.)
  • Analyze customer profiles, behaviors, and transactions to assess fraud risk
  • Document findings clearly and escalate high-risk cases for further investigation
  • Work with Fraud Risk and Compliance teams to improve alert scenarios and reduce false positives
  • Recommend process enhancements to strengthen fraud detection

Quality, Collaboration & Reporting

  • Ensure all investigations meet quality and documentation standards
  • Collaborate with investigators, compliance teams, and data analysts
  • Provide insights on fraud trends and support management reports and dashboards

Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • Bachelors degree required
  • Preferred fields: Finance, Accounting, Criminology, Risk Management, or similar

Experience

  • 3–5 years

    in fraud analysis, transaction monitoring, or financial crime investigations
  • Experience in banking, fintech, or consulting environments preferred
  • Familiarity with digital asset/crypto transactions is a plus

Technical Skills

  • Hands-on experience with systems such as Unit21, Actimize, SAS AML, FIS, Oracle Mantas (or similar)
  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills
  • Ability to work with large datasets and identify anomalies

Knowledge

  • Fraud typologies and risk indicators
  • Fraud schemes: account takeover, first-party fraud, mule accounts, social engineering

Preferred Certifications

  • CAMS, CFE, CFCS, or similar fraud/AML certifications
