Formulation Scientist

Role Overview: At Nat Habit, you will be a Personal Care R&D Scientist responsible for creating disruptive "fresh" and natural personal care products using fresh ingredients, minimal processing, and no preservatives. Your role will involve developing, formulating, and optimizing natural personal care products such as skincare, haircare, and body care items with a focus on achieving a more food-like feel and texture. Additionally, you will research and implement innovative, eco-friendly ingredients and technologies, conduct stability testing, compatibility testing, and performance evaluations, and support product claims substantiation and regulatory documentation. You will also oversee pilot plant trials and optimize processes for manufacturing efficiency. Key Responsibilities: - Develop, formulate, and optimize natural personal care products like skincare, haircare, and body care items. - Research and implement innovative, eco-friendly ingredients and technologies. - Conduct stability testing, compatibility testing, and performance evaluations. - Support product claims substantiation and regulatory documentation. - Oversee pilot plant trials, troubleshoot formulation challenges, and optimize processes for manufacturing efficiency. Qualifications Required: - Master's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, pharmaceutical science, cosmetic, or Ayurveda. - Experience in personal care research and development, ideally having formulated own products. - Experience in formulating natural or Ayurvedic products, preferably 100% natural products. - Good understanding of natural preservatives, stabilizers, emulsifiers, surfactants, etc. - 2+ years of industry experience. - Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, startup environment.
