Forestry Officer Basic Job Profile We are looking for an experienced forestry Officer Who will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing forestry programs and practices to promote sustainable land use, biodiversity conservation, and improved livelihoods. The officer will work closely with farmers,gardeners, community groups, and stakeholders to integrate trees and livestock in a harmonious and productive way. Duties & Responsibility Agroforestry System Design: Plan, design, and implement agroforestry systems that integrate trees into agricultural landscapes, promoting ecological sustainability and economic benefits. Tree Nursery Management : Establish, manage, and maintain tree nurseries to ensure high-quality seedlings for projects. Farmer Engagement and Training : Work with farmers, communities, and stakeholders to promote forestry practices, providing training and technical assistance. Soil Conservation and Management : Implement soil conservation measures, promoting sustainable land use and management practices. Monitoring and Evaluation : Monitor and evaluate projects, assessing environmental, social, and economic impacts. Research and Development : Collaborate with researchers, institutions, and organizations to stay updated on best practices, technologies, and innovations in agroforestry. Qualification & Requirements 1. Bachelor's/Master's degree in Agroforestry / Forestry, Science, or related fields. 2. Relevant experience in agroforestry / forestry, or natural resource management. 3.Professional certifications (e.g., agroforestry / forestry, or environmental management) desirable. 4. Office and fieldwork in rural and agricultural areas. Location: BCL Distillery Unit, Sangat Kalan, Bathinda (Punjab)
