Fixture and Work Station Designing

The responsibilities for this position include designing and developing welding fixtures, assembly jigs, checking gauges, ergonomic workstations, and material handling tools using SolidWorks. You will be required to create 3D CAD models, detailed 2D drawings, and BOMs in compliance with industry and company standards. Additionally, conducting design validation, DFMEA, and feasibility studies to ensure manufacturability and performance will be part of your tasks. Collaboration with cross-functional teams such as Production, Quality, and Maintenance for fixture implementation and feedback is essential. You will also need to make modifications to existing tooling and fixtures based on process improvements, quality issues, or production changes. Ensuring that all designs meet safety, ergonomic, and quality standards is a crucial aspect of this role. Supporting the fabrication, installation, and commissioning of designed fixtures and workstations on the shop floor is also part of the job. Maintaining records of all designs, revisions, and technical documentation is necessary, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives and contributing to lean manufacturing practices is expected. The qualifications required for this position include a Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field. You should have at least 2 years of experience in fixture design, preferably in welding and assembly applications. Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling and 2D drafting is a must. A strong understanding of manufacturing processes, GD&T, and material selection is essential. Familiarity with welding processes (MIG/TIG/Spot) and assembly line operations is beneficial. Having knowledge of ergonomics and safety standards for workstation design is required. Good analytical and problem-solving skills are desirable, along with effective communication and team collaboration abilities.,
