Job Description

Role Overview: You will be responsible for designing and developing welding fixtures, assembly jigs, checking gauges, ergonomic workstations, and material handling tools using SolidWorks. This includes creating 3D CAD models, detailed 2D drawings, and BOMs in accordance with industry and company standards. You will conduct design validation, DFMEA, and feasibility studies to ensure manufacturability and performance. Collaborating with cross-functional teams including Production, Quality, and Maintenance for fixture implementation and feedback will be part of your role. Additionally, you will modify existing tooling and fixtures based on process improvements, quality issues, or production changes to ensure all designs meet safety, ergonomic, and quality standards. Supporting the fabrication, installation, and commissioning of designed fixtures and workstations on the shop floor will also be among your responsibilities. Lastly, maintaining a record of all designs, revisions, and technical documentation and participating in continuous improvement initiatives to contribute to lean manufacturing practices will be expected. Qualification Required: - Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or related field. - 2+ years of experience in fixture design, preferably in welding and assembly applications. - Proficient in SolidWorks for 3D modeling and 2D drafting. - Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, GD&T, and material selection. - Familiarity with welding processes (MIG/TIG/Spot) and assembly line operations. - Understanding of ergonomics and safety standards for workstation design. - Good analytical and problem-solving skills. - Effective communication and team collaboration skills.
