Key Responsibilities Customize and extend the AWS IoT FleetWise Edge Agent (FWE) based on the clients specific requirements Implement interfaces for CAN0, VCAN0, VCAN1, and other vehicle network protocols Cross-compile the FWE for older Linux versions ensuring backward compatibility Develop and enhance MQTT communication between the Edge Agent and AWS cloud services Support a new Android-based project that integrates with the FWE ecosystem Configure and optimize data collection schemes and decoder manifests Implement custom commands and features on top of the base FWE functionality Write clean, maintainable code with proper documentation and testing Work closely with client stakeholders to understand their requirements, solutionize and implement them Mentor junior developers on the team and provide technical leadership Required Qualifications Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field 5+ years of C/C++ development experience in embedded or IoT environments Strong knowledge of CAN bus and automotive protocols (OBD-II, UDS, etc.) Experience with Linux systems programming and embedded Linux Proficiency in cross-compilation techniques for different Linux versions Understanding of MQTT and other messaging protocols for IoT applications Experience with AWS IoT services (IoT Core, IoT FleetWise preferred) Familiar with real-time data collection and processing systems Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment Experience with source control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines Preferred Qualifications Experience with AWS IoT FleetWise Edge Agent implementation Knowledge of Vehicle Signal Specification (VSS) and signal processing Android development experience, especially for automotive applications Familiarity with ROS2 (Robot Operating System) for middleware integration Experience with automotive telematics or connected vehicle solutions Background in developing for ARM64-based embedded platforms Knowledge of vehicle diagnostics and trouble code processing Technical Skills Programming Languages: C/C++, Java (for Android), Shell scripting Protocols: CAN, MQTT, HTTPS, ISO-TP AWS Services: IoT Core, IoT FleetWise, S3, Timestream Tools: CMake, AWS SDK for C++, Android SDK/NDK Operating Systems: Linux (including older versions), Android Source Control: Git Cross-Compilation Tools: ARM64 toolchains
