Firmware Design Engineer

Role Overview: As a member of the New Product Development (NPD) team, your role will involve understanding product specifications and software requirements. You will be responsible for designing software modules to ensure they meet quality, performance, maintainability, and extensibility standards. Additionally, you will engage in hands-on software development, assist in debugging, and resolve critical issues as needed. Providing technical guidance to junior engineers, conducting design/code reviews, estimating software development activities, and ensuring compliance with BTL quality management process are key aspects of your role. Key Responsibilities: - Understand product specifications and software requirements - Design software modules meeting quality, performance, maintainability, and extensibility criteria - Perform hands-on software development and assist in debugging - Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and conduct design/code reviews - Estimate software development activities and ensure compliance with quality management process Qualification Required: - Bachelor or master's degree in Electronics or similar engineering stream - Around 5 years of experience in design and development of embedded firmware Additional Details: The ideal candidate should have proven experience in designing and developing microcontroller-based embedded firmware. Proficiency in firmware development using C, C++ with and without any OS, experience in unit testing and automated unit test frameworks, good knowledge of embedded system fundamentals, including microcontrollers, peripherals, communication protocols, etc., system-level understanding, and experience in agile development processes and continuous integration tools are essential. Behavioral competencies such as being proactive, having good analytical thinking, being systematic and organized, and working collaboratively with the team are highly valued for this role.,
