Job Description

Role & responsibilities

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Pune for a Financial Controller. The role involves preparing and analyzing financial statements, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting in financial reporting. The Financial Controller will handle day-to-day accounting tasks, ensure compliance with relevant financial standards, and provide insights to support financial decision-making. Collaboration with internal teams and timely communication to stakeholders are crucial aspects of this role.

Foreign Company (Primary Responsibility) (75% time)

  • Financial Accounting & Review
  • Month-End Closure & MIS
  • Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Coordination with Outsourced Service Providers
  • Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Oversight
  • Statutory Audit & Compliance
  • Cash Flow Management & Cost Optimisation
  • Internal Controls & Governance

Secondary Responsibilities (25% time)

Family Office Investment Accounting

  • Assist in maintenance of investment records for the promoters family office, including Tracking of investment transactions and updating investment registers
  • Recording income, accruals, redemptions, and mark-to-market adjustments
  • Prepare periodic investment summaries, cash movement updates, and basic performance tracking.
  • Coordinate for gathering statements, contract notes, capital account statements, and other documents from investment managers or custodians.

NGO / Not-for-Profit Accounting Support

  • Assist in accounting, book updating, receipt/payment recording, and ledger scrutiny for the NGO entity.
  • Ensure compliance with the NGOs governance framework, grant accounting norms, and annual financial reporting requirements.
  • Support preparation of utilisation statements, board reports, and donor reporting as required.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Chartered Accountant / Chartered Accountant (party completed) preferred with 5-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards, MIS reporting, budgeting, and financial controls.
  • Proficiency in Finance and Analytical Skills to assess and interpret financial data
  • Prior experience working with outsourced accounting or shared service partners is an advantage.
  • Effective Communication skills to collaborate with teams and articulate financial insights clearly
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills to ensure accuracy in financial tasks
  • Proficiency in accounting software, ERP systems and advanced Excel.
