Finance Manager

About the Role

We are looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Finance Manager to lead the finance

function for our fast-paced fashion and apparel business. This role demands a balance of

strategic thinking and hands-on execution, with a strong understanding of retail, wholesale,

and export business models. The ideal candidate will be experienced in managing financial

operations across design, production, inventory, and sales channels while ensuring

compliance and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Analysis

• Prepare annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and monthly variance analysis.

• Track store-wise, product-line-wise, and channel-wise performance (retail, online,

B2B).

• Provide profitability analysis for collections, SKUs, and seasonal campaigns.

Accounting & Compliance

• Manage end-to-end accounting including inventory valuation, COGS tracking, and

vendor reconciliations.

• Ensure compliance with GST (including garment-specific rate considerations), TDS,

PF/ESI, and other statutory requirements.

• Coordinate internal and statutory audits, ensuring accurate and timely closure.

Cash Flow & Working Capital Management

• Monitor daily cash flows and manage payments to suppliers, fabricators, and logistics

partners.

• Optimize working capital through effective inventory and receivables management.

Business Partnering

• Work closely with design, production, and sales teams to align financial planning with

market trends and seasonal demand.

• Support decision-making for pricing strategies, discount policies, and vendor

negotiations.

Process & Systems

• Implement and improve ERP/finance systems for better inventory, order, and cost

tracking.

• Strengthen internal controls to safeguard company assets.

Key Requirements

• Education: CA / CMA / MBA (Finance) or equivalent qualification.

• Experience: 58 years in finance, with at least 2 years in a managerial role,

preferably in apparel, fashion retail, FMCG, or manufacturing.

• Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in ERP (SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Tally Prime, or apparel-

specific ERPs).

• Strong Excel skills for MIS and financial modelling.
• Sound knowledge of GST compliance specific to the apparel and textile

industry.

• Soft Skills:

• Strong commercial acumen and understanding of fashion business cycles.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, seasonal, and trend-driven environment.
