Job Description – Filing Supervisor (Jewellery Manufacturing)

Location: Sitapura, Jaipur
Salary: Up to ₹42,000 per month
Experience Required: Minimum 5 years in jewellery filing department (Mandatory)
Role: Full-Time

Role Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Filing Supervisor to lead and manage the filing department in a jewellery manufacturing setup. The candidate must have strong technical knowledge of filing processes, finishing standards, quality parameters, and team handling. The supervisor will ensure timely delivery of jobs with premium finishing quality.

Key Responsibilities

1. Department Supervision & Workforce Management

• Manage and supervise the team of filers, ensuring smooth workflow.
• Allocate daily work to team members based on priority, complexity, and skill level.
• Train new filers and upgrade skills of existing staff.
• Monitor productivity and maintain discipline in the department.

2. Technical Expertise in Filing

• Strong knowledge of gold/diamond jewellery filing, cleaning, and finishing processes.
• Ability to read job instructions, technical drawings, and understand design complexity.
• Ensure removal of casting defects, sprue filing, part correction, and maintaining design integrity.
• Ensure high finishing quality before jobs move to polishing or setting departments.

3. Quality Control & Standards

• Inspect all jobs thoroughly before forwarding to next stage.
• Identify defects like porosity, pits, alignment issues, weight loss issues, and take corrective actions.
• Maintain zero-defect quality output and minimize rework.

4. Production Management

• Ensure timely completion of daily production targets.
• Work closely with Production Manager, PPC, and CAD/Casting departments for job planning.
• Track daily inflow/outflow of jobs and maintain proper records.
• Follow up with other departments to avoid production delays.

5. Reporting & Documentation

• Maintain daily production reports for department output.
• Record job issues, rejections, and rework data.
• Provide daily updates to management on progress and challenges.

Skills & Competencies Required

• Minimum 5 years experience in jewellery filing (gold/diamond).
• Strong knowledge of jewellery manufacturing processes.
• Excellent quality-checking ability and eye for detail.
• Leadership & team management skills.
• Ability to handle deadline pressure.
• Good communication and coordination abilities.

Eligibility

• Minimum 10th / 12th / ITI / Diploma in Jewellery Manufacturing (preferred)
• Must have hands-on experience in filing department
• Must have team handling experience

Pay: ₹11,070.57 - ₹42,583.57 per month
