Field Service Engineer

Essential Responsibilities

Equipment Installation & Commissioning

• Install and commission 3D printers and associated systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
• Follow defined procedures to test, operate, calibrate, and maintain equipment.

Technical Troubleshooting & Repair

• Assemble and test mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and optical sub-assemblies (expertise in at least one area required).
• Interpret technical documentation, including manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams, to diagnose and resolve issues.
• Repair equipment using appropriate tools and test instruments; order and replace parts as needed.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to address complex issues and support product improvements.

Maintenance & Continuous Improvement

• Schedule and perform Preventative Maintenance (PM) activities to ensure equipment uptime and reliability.
• Participate in the development and refinement of processes, procedures, and technical documentation.
• Provide feedback to management regarding machine performance and customer satisfaction.

Customer Interaction & Training

• Deliver onsite training and technical instruction to customers, peers, and contract manufacturers.
• Maintain clear communication regarding activities, action plans, metrics, and equipment status.
• Manage customer interactions effectively, ensuring positive experiences even in high-pressure situations.

Operational Protocols

• Adhere to all security, safety, access, scheduling, and communication protocols.
• Participate in team meetings and other assigned company activities.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required.
