As a proactive Buildings and Facilities Coordinator joining our Faculty of Medicine team at Southampton General Hospital, your primary responsibility will be to uphold the safety, functionality, and appeal of our teaching areas, laboratories, and offices. Your role is pivotal in supporting the daily operations for our students, researchers, and staff. **Key Responsibilities** - Serve as the main point of contact for maintenance requests, fault reporting, and waste management through University of Southampton (UoS) and University Hospital Southampton (UHS) systems. - Manage access and facilities assistance for postgraduate students, academic staff, researchers, and visitors. - Engage with Estates teams, external contractors, and the Faculty Infrastructure Manager for refurbishment projects and compliance endeavors. - Provide assistance in health and safety activities, such as inspections, fire safety checks, risk assessments, and incident reporting. - Maintain accurate records of equipment servicing (e.g., calibration, PAT testing) and oversee content on the Faculty's infrastructure SharePoint site. - Effectively plan and prioritize your workload to achieve operational goals. **Qualifications Required** - Previous experience in a facilities or estates support capacity, preferably within a university, healthcare, or similar complex setting. - Profound understanding of health and safety regulations, particularly pertaining to manual handling and safe work practices. - Proficiency in IT systems, including spreadsheets and reporting tools. - Attainment of a Level 3 qualification (e.g., A-Levels, NVQ, or equivalent vocational training). **Additional Company Details (if applicable)** The University aims to establish an inclusive, respectful, and equal opportunity culture where individuals can flourish.
