Job Description

As a Mechanical Design Engineer at Chevron ENGINE Center, you will be responsible for providing mechanical design engineering and technical support for Chevron's Refining and Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) assets. Your role will involve supporting field engineering, developing engineering work packages, and various related activities. Key Responsibilities: - Strategically provide engineering support for operating assets, including minor design changes, project scopes, and long-term maintenance support. - Manage changes for design packages and associated modifications. - Assist in quality inspection, checks, and specification of new equipment. - Provide technical support for planned mechanical equipment scopes during routine maintenance, campaign maintenance, or Turnarounds, including developing Engineering Work Packages. - Aid in planning materials maintenance and procurement activities as needed. - Design minor work packages for Asset Brownfield Engineering Projects and contribute to design studies in Opportunity Development. - Participate in Process Hazard Analysis (PHAs). - Assess mechanical equipment fitness for service in compliance with API codes and standards, support Root Cause Investigations, and address other equipment-related incidents. - Identify mechanical equipment risks and devise solutions to ensure safe plant operation. - Utilize expertise in pressure vessels, heat exchangers, piping, Pressure Safety Valves, Marine Loading Arms, and related static equipment. Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (B.E./B.Tech.) from a recognized university accredited by AICTE. - Ideally, possess 8 to 15 years of experience in an operational support role for a complex refinery or LNG facility.
